Anthropose is a ‘social-good’ company based in Nepal. With every 10 pairs of sunglasses sold, one person in a rural village in Nepal gets a free cataract surgery. Cataract is the clouding of the lens that affects the quality of vision and a simple cataract surgery only takes 15 minutes and restores eyesight within 24 hours. However, access to healthcare remains low and the inability to afford this surgery is very high. Anthropose is giving eye sight back to people who cannot afford the surgery. You can read more about it here.

In addition to or instead of a physical gift, dedicate time with your mother doing an activity she cares for most.
Gather the family and organise a picnic in the countryside or a day by the water.
Organise interactive and engaging family games.
Spend a day at the spa!
How will you celebrate your mum? There are so many things you can do to put a smile on your mother’s face and sometimes it is such a small gesture! And remember, mother’s should be celebrated e v e r y d a y! <3
Remember: Sharing is caring! Please share this post <3

Agh! another ‘holiday’ based on consumerism… I think the best gift would be to do something thoughtful…whatever it may be, even just a long phone call if it has been a while since the last time! If you live nearby, bring coffee, make lunch, offer to help around with whatever she may need… just my opinion 😉 But great choice of gifts, in general 🙂
Hey I totally agree, BUT if people are looking for a gift then they should be thinking about ethical gifts, ecological gifts that respect people and the planet. But yes – in fact I did mention – the best gifts are those that include spending time together! And we shouldnt celebrate our mothers (or whoever) once in a year …. it should be all year round!
These are great ideas, thank you for sharing! I’d much rather buy from companies who are doing more for the greater good.
Thanks for posting this Hannah! Do you know if the sunglasses are also ecofriendly?
Hey Angela, I would not say so, no. But their social outcome is too good to pass on 🙂
A mother’s day bonding is the best idea for me. Thanks for sharing ♥️ ♥️ Let me know if you are interested in doing collabs! xx
