This list gives you more than 25 ethical and eco-friendly gift ideas to get you started for a positive and sustainable gifting period!
That time of the year when you’re being blasted by advertising, promotions, pre-Christmas discounts, the dreaded Black Friday avalanche, events you need to attend, some you need to organise, gift lists, to-do lists and ahhh … I feel you!
Curating a gift list for the ones you love can also be tiring, amongst all the other things you need to get done, and you don’t want to waste your money on things they won’t enjoy.
FollowThink about what that person likes to do and what they would need – heck, go and ask them even! Consider being more ethical and sustainable this season by
- buying from ethical and eco-friendly brands (you’ve got quite a selection below!)
- thrifting pre-loved items
- make a DIY beauty product or a homemade food product
- treat them out for an outdoors adventure and a homemade meal or outdoor picnic
- instead of buying stuff, donate to your favourite charity or sponsor a child – here’s one that I personally am very close to.
If you’re willing to spend a dime, spend it on positive impact brands; brands that have an ethical business practice, practice fair trade, protect the environment, make a social impact. Choose the brand according to your own ethical values – this list of ethical and eco-friendly brands touches some of my values regarding ethics or sustainability in one way or another. You make your choice.
If you are looking for something for yourself and you’re interested in curating a more sustainable and ethical wardrobe please read FAQs on Sustainable Fashion which includes some tips on how to go about the transition.
